According to the web, no one really knows who musician Clutchy Hopkins is.  Some speculate that it might not be just one person, but rather a collection of individuals who could be behind the curtain.  The rumored (famous) culprits are said to be DJ Shadow, Madlib, Cut Chemist but no one has officialy come out of the closet on this.  There is no official Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Website, Soundcloud, nothing on this guy.  We're sure this subject has been blogged about many a time over, but who cares because we just got turned onto his music by Jeremy Franklin of @sotsmusic and quite frankly, it's awesome.  

We're not gonna sit here and tell you we're familiar with all of his work.  In fact the only music we have of his is "The Life of Clutchy Hopkins" which appears to be his first record.  The music of "The Life of Clutchy Hopkins" is all instrumentals rooted in hip hop.  I wouldn't sit here and say that Drake or Wiz or 2 Chainz would be apt to rhyme over the tunes....but eff them because they all suck (except for Drake).  Rather the likes of Chali 2na, Gift of Gab, or any "backpack rapper" would be best suited to kick some rhymes over the likes of Clutchy Hopkin's music.
